The Bachelor star Bec Cvilikas and her fiancé Kody Griggs have welcomed their first child together, a healthy baby girl.
The 30-year-old reality TV favourite shared the news on social media, posting a gallery of maternity ward photos showing her and Griggs bonding with their newborn. One photo captured Cvilikas cradling her baby in her arms as Griggs embraced her, while another showed the couple gazing into each other's eyes.
She captioned the gallery with a message revealing her daughter's name. "Don't ever wake me from this dream. Our daughter, Elsie Jay," Cvilikas wrote.
Celebrity friends react
Several of Cvilikas's celebrity friends left messages of congratulations in the comments section. Fellow Bachelor veteran Irena Srbinovska wrote, "Aww she's here!! Congratulations to you both!! Hope you're doing well mumma." Srbinovska's husband, Locky Gilbert, added simply, "Beautiful."
Gilbert was the Bachelor star on whose 2020 season Cvilikas first rose to fame.
The beach proposal
In July last year, Cvilikas announced her engagement to Griggs, her long-time boyfriend, after he proposed during a sunset on the beach. In footage shared to Instagram, a stunned Cvilikas is seen covering her mouth in shock as Griggs drops to one knee on a white towel laid out on the sand, holding out a diamond ring. Moments later, the couple share a kiss as waves crash behind them.
She captioned the moment "A forever thing," set to Chris Stapleton's ballad Joy Of My Life. The post drew hundreds of congratulatory comments, including from other Bachelor stars.
The pair have kept much of their relationship out of the spotlight and have reportedly been dating for several years.
Past feud with Bella Varelis
The engagement came as Cvilikas continued building her brand away from reality TV. She had previously made headlines over her long-running feud with former best friend and co-star Bella Varelis, after a friendship that soured following the pair sharing a flat together in a beachside suburb.
Cvilikas addressed the fallout during an Instagram Q&A, writing, "Bella and I have no contact whatsoever. I will never disclose the reasons why we are no longer friends." She said the two women have "well and truly closed the chapter" as they continue on with their lives.
