Bethenny Frankel has revealed she was misdiagnosed with something she called "pretty major," after a team of doctors reassessed her health.
The Real Housewives of New York City alum, 55, shared the update in her latest video, explaining that the reversal came after she consulted a "medical community" that cross-references a patient's labs, markers and overall health history.
Frankel did not specify what the misdiagnosed condition was. "I really don't want to tell you this but I have to tell you this because it could help one of you or several of you," she said.
How the misdiagnosis was found
Frankel said she had joined a medical community with teams of doctors who cross-reference a patient's markers, labs and longevity data, comparing the service to an at-home version of the Mayo Clinic. She stressed it was "very, very legitimate" and not a "BS vanity concierge doctor."
"And they have said that I have been misdiagnosed with something pretty major," Frankel said. "And they're pretty resolved." She said the takeaway was to be thorough with labs, checkups, second and third opinions, and crowdsourced opinions, adding that people now also have access to chat-based tools, though she cautioned against believing everything found online or generated by chat.
The news left Frankel unsettled. "I'm very confused because I was sort of operating with the idea that I do have this, and I don't want to throw anybody under the bus and try to do the right thing and it's very confusing," she said, adding that people should be more thorough about their medical care than almost anything else in life.
Urging fans to keep records
Frankel urged her followers to take the same approach with their own health. "Get a notebook out and whatever it is that you think you have or that someone said you have, or symptoms that you are experiencing, I think we are so thorough about restaurants and shopping and other things and business and I think we have to be very thorough about our health," she said.
Her kidney disease diagnosis
The update comes less than a year after Frankel revealed she had been diagnosed with kidney disease. She said her doctor suggested the condition could stem from a traumatic allergy attack she suffered years earlier that nearly killed her and may have damaged her kidney. As with her latest health news, that diagnosis also shifted over time: she was first told she had stage two chronic kidney disease before learning it was actually stage 3a.
Life beyond the health scares
The health issues have not slowed Frankel down. She walked the runway in a bikini at the 2026 Sports Illustrated SI Swimsuit Runway Show and has found love this year with Shane Campbell, a senior managing director at FTI Consulting.
Frankel and Campbell, a Miami native, were first linked in April and made their first public appearance together at the 2026 Global Champions Arabians Tour in Miami Beach. A source told the Daily Mail at the time that Frankel was "the happiest she's ever been and is fully in her intentional dating era." A second source said the pair "were holding hands during the entire event and barely left each other's side" and "seemed to enjoy each other's company."
Frankel went Instagram official with Campbell, a former pro hockey player and investment banker, in May, posting a photo of the two kissing during a roller skating date. She captioned it: "If a launch is hard this is a diamond…"
