The official Ukrainian trailer for the upcoming neo-Western thriller film The Rescue has been released, showcasing American actor Brandon Sklenar in the lead role.
In the film, Sklenar portrays Jamie Lee, a former rodeo cowboy who decides to take matters into his own hands when his daughter is abducted for a monetary ransom. Accompanied by his loyal dog, the determined father sets off on a dangerous tracking mission and will stop at nothing to find her.
The supporting cast features Josh Lucas and Hassie Harrison, both of whom played roles in the popular Western drama series Yellowstone. Lucas is also known for his performances in major feature films, including the psychological thriller American Psycho, the biographical drama A Beautiful Mind, and the sports drama Ford v Ferrari.
Sklenar gained widespread recognition for starring as Spencer Dutton in the 1923 television series, a prequel spin-off to Yellowstone. The actor also starred in last year's hit film adaptation The Housemaid, alongside roles in the feature films It Ends with Us and Fatal Message.

The feature film is directed by Potsy Ponciroli, an American filmmaker best known for directing the acclaimed 2021 indie Western Old Henry. Ponciroli has also directed feature projects including the dark comedy Greedy People and the action thriller Motor City.
The neo-Western subgenre updates traditional frontier motifs such as rugged individualism, abduction rescues, and lawlessness by setting them in contemporary American settings. Filmmakers in the genre often combine classical Western archetypes with modern thriller pacing.

According to an announcement from the press service of cinema distributor B&H Film Distribution Company, The Rescue will open in Ukrainian theatres on January 28, 2027.
