The Brazilian Film Festival is offering cinema tickets for R$ 12 across Brazil between October 29 and November 4, 2026, to champion domestic productions.
Major exhibition circuits including Cinemark, Cinépolis and Cine Araújo have confirmed their participation in the promotional campaign, which seeks to expand public access to Brazilian movies.
The initiative was created by the National Federation of Cinema Exhibition Companies, known as Feneec, with institutional support from the Brazilian Association of Multiplex Cinema Operators, or Abraplex.
The R$ 12 flat admission applies exclusively to Brazilian feature films during the seven-day period. International studio releases will remain on screens at their standard ticket prices throughout the week.
Featured films in the festival lineup
The festival schedule features several notable new national releases. Among the headlining titles is Feito Pipa, which was selected to represent Brazil in the competition for a Best International Feature Film nomination at the 2027 Academy Awards.
The program also includes 100 Dias, a biographical drama starring Filipe Bragança as the acclaimed Brazilian maritime explorer Amyr Klink. Klink is celebrated worldwide for completing daring solo voyages, including an 8,700-kilometre crossing of the South Atlantic in a rowboat in 1984.
Audiences can also watch the new drama As Dez Vantagens de Morrer Depois de Você, starring pop singer Giulia Be and singer Any Gabrielly, a former member of the global pop group Now United.
Box office hits and concession deals
Alongside brand new releases, the discounted ticket price extends to several major Brazilian titles already in commercial distribution. These include the body-swap comedy sequel Se Eu Fosse Você 3, starring veteran actors Tony Ramos and Glória Pires, as well as the family film Um Tio Quase Perfeito 3.
Moviegoers can also catch the drama Minha Melhor Amiga, which has already drawn approximately 5.9 million spectators into theatres across the country during its theatrical run.
Film availability and session schedules vary depending on the participating exhibitor and individual cinema complex. To complement the discounted admission, Cinépolis is introducing special concession promotions, offering popcorn and soft drink combos for R$ 29 and R$ 39, available only for in-person orders at theatre counters.
Industry support and previous attendance
The first edition of the Brazilian Film Festival builds on the proven format of Cinema Week, known locally as Semana do Cinema. That national initiative, organized by the same exhibition trade bodies across nine editions, drew roughly 5.6 million attendees to Brazilian cinemas in September 2026.
Industry leaders highlighted the growing momentum of local film production. Lucio Otoni, the president of Feneec, said Brazilian audiovisual production was experiencing a strong moment, with local releases performing well at the box office and audiences showing deeper interest in domestic storytelling.
Otoni said it was very important to celebrate those achievements, describing Brazil as a nation with a rich culture that translates naturally to the screen. He said organizers wanted to provide an opportunity for new audiences to discover the quality and diversity of work produced within the country.
Tiago Mafra, the executive director of Abraplex, said the campaign was designed to strengthen the commercial health of the theatrical sector. Mafra emphasized that the sustained success of Brazilian films was fundamental for the continued development and economic survival of cinema exhibition infrastructure nationwide.
