BTS finish Brazil tour in Sao Paulo wearing Brazil shirts

South Korean pop group BTS ended their three-night run in Brazil on Saturday, October 31, with the third and final Sao Paulo concert of their Arirang world tour at the Morumbis stadium.

Each of the three performances in Sao Paulo drew around 85,000 people, according to CNN Brasil. Across the shows, the group tried out phrases in Portuguese, wore Indigenous accessories on stage and performed in the shirts of the Brazilian national football team.

The final Saturday night show featured strong interaction between the performers and their global fanbase, known as the Army. Throughout the third concert, the members addressed the crowd in Portuguese and at one point put on Brazil national team jerseys while performing traditional Brazilian passinho dance steps, with images of the group in the shirts and Indigenous accessories shared on the band's official Instagram account.

Formed in Seoul, BTS is the best-selling musical act in South Korean history, while their official supporter group takes its name from an acronym for Adorable Representative M.C. for Youth. Estadio do Morumbis, the home ground of Sao Paulo Futebol Clube, is one of the largest football stadiums in Brazil and a regular venue for major international concert tours visiting South America's biggest city.

Post-show livestream and Jung Kook's workout

Following the final concert on Saturday, members Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V and Jung Kook held a livestream to reflect on their performances in Brazil and their wider run in South America.

During the broadcast, the six members discussed how hard Jung Kook had worked out at the gym to show off his muscles during the final Sao Paulo concert, where he appeared shirtless on stage.

Fan signs and customised Brazilian flags

The group also used the livestream to talk about the many handmade signs held up by fans in the audience across all three concerts in Sao Paulo.

Among the signs spotted in the crowd was one telling the performers that the fan could escape their domain expansion but would never want to, a playful reference to a signature combat technique from the Japanese manga and anime series Jujutsu Kaisen.

Another sign in the stadium stated that it was the fan's birthday and expressed their love for BTS, while other concertgoers brought customised Brazilian national flags to the shows.

V's Portuguese speech and Brazilian crowd chant

During the second concert on Friday, October 30, member V delivered a large part of his onstage speech in Portuguese before leading the audience in a famous Brazilian stadium chant declaring that they are Brazilian, with great pride and with great love.

The chant is a classic terrace anthem sung by Brazilian sports supporters and concert crowds at major national events. V has previously expressed an interest in Brazilian music several times, particularly Bossa Nova, the style of popular music that emerged in Rio de Janeiro in the late 1950s blending samba rhythms with jazz harmonies.

BTS comeback album and Arirang world tour

The Arirang tour marks the end of a hiatus of nearly four years for BTS caused by the members completing their mandatory military service in South Korea, where able-bodied men are required by law to serve in the armed forces. Named after Korea's best-known traditional folk song, the tour began in the South Korean city of Goyang, northwest of Seoul, and covers 82 concerts across 34 cities through March 2027.

The group's comeback album topped the US Billboard 200 albums chart for three consecutive weeks, setting a record for a K-pop artist, and generated 99.1 million official streams in the United States alone during its release week.

According to Hybe, the South Korean agency that manages BTS, the tour will be the largest world tour ever staged by a K-pop artist in both regional reach and number of dates. Kim Yu-hyuk of IBK Investment and Securities projects tour revenue of $1.8 billion, or about 9 billion Brazilian reais.
