'Camp Rock 3' Sets Spain Premiere, Jonas Brothers Back

'Camp Rock 3' will premiere in Spain on August 13 on Disney Channel and on August 14 on Disney+, marking the return of the Jonas Brothers to the musical franchise that made them stars.

Before the new film arrives, Disney Channel will air the original 'Camp Rock' on Saturday, August 8, followed by 'Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam' on Sunday, August 9, both at 9:55 pm, as a warm-up for fans of one of the channel's best-remembered franchises.

What 'Camp Rock 3' is about

The film brings back Joe, Nick and Kevin Jonas as the band Connect 3 for a new musical adventure at the iconic camp. After the group is left without an opening act for their reunion tour, Shane, Nate and Jason return to Camp Rock in search of the next big star to join them on the road.

There they meet a new generation of campers eager to prove their talent and compete for the spot. Among them are Sage, an ambitious and determined camper, her brother Desi, gifted cellist Rosie, drummer Cliff, dancer Callie, influencer Madison, and Fletch, the camp's resident bad boy. Each will have to show they have what it takes to become Camp Rock's next big talent.

Music remains central to the franchise. 'Camp Rock 3' will feature new original songs alongside tracks tied to the earlier films and performances from Connect 3, with a soundtrack blending pop, country, K-pop, R&B, hip-hop and folk.

Disney Channel's return to Spanish TV

On January 6, 2025, Disney Channel went off the air in Spain, ending 27 years on the country's digital terrestrial television after entertaining generations of viewers with shows like 'Hannah Montana,' 'Phineas and Ferb,' 'Switched at Birth' and Jordi Cruz's craft segments on 'Art Attack.'

More than a year later, Disney Channel returned to Spain, though not on free-to-air television. Since April 1, it has been part of the country's pay-TV lineup, replacing Disney Junior. The change goes beyond a rebrand, as the channel has added new programming aimed at children aged 6 to 11.

New additions include the return of 'Phineas and Ferb' with new summer storylines, fresh episodes of 'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir,' the continuation of 'Vampirina: Teenage Vampire' through its season finale, and special blocks called 'Superheroes Go!' built around Marvel characters. Despite this shift toward older kids, the channel keeps preschool programming under the Disney Jr. banner, including 'Bluey,' 'Spidey and His Amazing Friends' and 'SuperKitties.' The strategy aims to unify content for different age groups under a single, recognizable pay-TV signal.

Daily programming schedule

Disney Channel structures its daily lineup around the age of its audience, opening the morning with content aimed squarely at younger viewers. Early slots are dominated by 'Bluey,' alongside familiar titles like 'Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+,' 'SuperKitties' and the preschool Marvel spinoffs 'Marvel's Spidey and His Amazing Friends' and 'Iron Man and His Amazing Friends.'

As the day goes on, the schedule shifts toward older children and family audiences, with 'Phineas and Ferb,' 'Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir' and 'The Greens in the Big City' taking center stage. Evening and nighttime slots add shows like 'Kiff,' 'Vampirina: A Scary School' and the return of 'Wizards of Waverly Place,' while overnight hours rerun the channel's strongest titles, including 'Hamster & Gretel.'

How to watch Disney Channel in Spain

Disney Channel has not disappeared from Spain entirely, it has simply lost its terrestrial TV slot. The children's channel can still be watched by searching YouTube for "Disney Channel España," which streams a continuous live feed of the Walt Disney Company's channel, just as if it were still broadcasting on television.

Beyond the live stream, the YouTube channel also hosts playlists of highlights from fans' favorite shows, as well as full episodes of the series that built the channel's reputation, a chance to revisit old favorites without any extra cost. Viewers simply need a device with internet access, YouTube open, and "Disney Channel España" typed into the search bar.
