Cardi B has shown off a designer handbag haul worth more than $187,000, unveiling a string of purchases from Chanel, Bottega Veneta and Hermès that she made over five weeks of international shopping.
The Grammy-winning rapper, born Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, walked fans through the collection in an Aug. 22 TikTok video, moving from bag to bag with stories about where and how she got each one.
"Hi guys, it is your girl Cardi B, and today we're gonna be doing a bag haul for bags that I bought over the past five weeks," she said in the video. "So, I hope you guys enjoy what I bought. Some of them are extravagant, and some are a little bit cool. So, let's start it off."
The Chanel purchases
She started with a Chanel Maxi Flap Bag priced at $8,500, featuring a lava-like pattern in yellow, black and red.
"I actually got the matching outfit that goes with this bag about three months ago," she said. "And when I went to Chanel to try to get this bag, guess what? I got there too late."
Cardi said model and television personality Jordyn Woods had beaten her to the bag by half an hour, taking the last one available in New York. The store still managed to sell Cardi one of her own.
Next she pulled out a black Chanel Maxi Flap Bag bought for $9,300 in Paris, which she said she intends to use as her everyday bag. "This is supposed to be my everyday bag because she's huge, she's private, she's not open," she said.
She then revealed a Chanel pony hair purse in a cheetah print, worth $15,955. "Look at her, she is so beautiful," she said. "I have to have her." Cardi said she had already bought the bag's lookalike "sister" a few months earlier and predicted the pony hair piece would become one of her favorites for the fall season, calling it "furry" and "gorgeous."
Hermès and Bottega Veneta pieces
Cardi also showed a white feathered purse she ordered from Italy, admitting she has worn it only once and probably will not again because it is delicate.
Cardi is mother to Kulture, 8, Wave, 4, and Blossom, 23 months, with her estranged husband, fellow rapper Offset, as well as a 9-month-old son with her ex, NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs.
Her haul also included a green tweed Bottega Veneta shoulder purse costing $6,700. Bottega Veneta is an Italian luxury fashion house known for its woven leather goods.
From there, the purchases climbed steeply in price. Cardi displayed an alligator-skin Hermès Birkin 20 in the shade rose, estimated to be worth between $25,000 and $35,000, along with an Hermès Birkin 25 Neve Matte alligator leather purse in gris. The Birkin, made by the French luxury house Hermès, is among the most exclusive handbags in the world, known for its scarcity and resale value that can exceed its original retail price.
"Last but not least," Cardi showed a bright green Hermès Birkin Jaune Bourgeon Alligator Mini worth $44,100, which she said she bought in London.
Reflecting on the scale of the haul, Cardi summed it up simply: "I'm just an addict."
