After announcing she was leaving Carnival in 2023singer Black Gil was moved by a tribute paid by Ivete Sangalo this Thursday 16. The day Ivete opened the Carnival savior with the Pipoca Trio.
“Preta Gil, I dedicate my Carnival to you. I love you so much. Next year you will be here at this Carnival to ‘put it down'”, said the artist, who also honored Gilberto Gil and having said that Flora Gil was featured in the trio. “Leave it to me, it’s a family thing here,” she joked to the audience.

Preta shared the record in a post on Instagram and was moved by the speech. “You are Carnival, the greatest Carnival, an explosion of love,” he wrote.
The singer said that Ivete is, for her, “a teacher, a sister, an inspiration and the love of her life”. “You have no idea how your love and all the love I’m getting is healing me,” she said.
In early February, Preta announced that this year he would not participate in the Carnival to devote himself to the care of bowel cancerdiscovered in January.
The artist will lead the Bloco da Preta, scheduled for last 12 at Rio de Janeiro. In a publication also on Instagram, he promised the “Cure Block” for 2024.
