Evan Rachel Wood Brings Evidence and Denies Manipulating Marilyn Manson’s Alleged Victims

Actress Evan Rachel Wood (“Westworld”) has denied recent allegations that he manipulated women into accusing singer Marilyn Manson of sexual abuse. The allegation came to light after model Ashley Morgan Smithline dropped her charges against the singer and claimed she was influenced by her Wood to accuse Manson of rape.

In a new court deposition obtained by Rolling Stone magazine, the actress, once married to the musician, provided screenshots of her Instagram comments, dated 2019, and several messages from the past three years that she says show that Smithline lied in declaring Manson’s innocence.

In one such message, Smithline told a friend that Manson’s lawyer wanted her to “turn on other girls and say it was all a joke.”

Wood also mentioned a comment from March 2019, in which Smithline “cited information about her private experiences with Warner” when Manson (real name Brian Warner) allegedly abused Wood while “making her watch a specific scene from ‘Family Rules'” . “.

“When he held me hostage in the stupid ballet studio, I squirmed listening to him brag about repeating that scene from ‘Rules of Attraction’ for you,” Smithline said in a 2019 post in which Wood talked about being a victim of Domestic violence. “I thought no one would ever talk about it.”

Such information contradicts what Smithline recently claimed: that her relationship with Manson had been consensual and that Wood and other women allegedly forced her to accuse him of abuse. In the retraction, Smithline said Wood used the argument that just because she didn’t remember the abuse, didn’t mean it didn’t happen.

However, these messages indicate that Smithline remembered the incident very well.

After People magazine published an interview with the model detailing the abuse she suffered in 2021, Smithline reportedly sent a message on Wood’s Instagram saying, “I can’t breathe. I have no reason to make this up.” And Wood replied, “Don’t let anyone bring you down. Stand in your truth.”

In conversations, Smithline also claimed that he was harassed by the singer’s fans. “It takes a special kind of person to threaten victims of rape and abuse with multiple threats of rape and abuse,” Smithline wrote. “He was relentless.”

Along with this evidence, Evan Rachel Wood stated in the lawsuit that “the real pressure Smithline faced was not to bring charges against the perpetrator, but to drop them.” “Smithline’s claim is therefore wholly unreliable.”

Another piece of evidence presented by Wood were two audio messages Smithline sent to a friend in 2022, stating that Warner’s attorney, Howard King, had called her and that he believed she wanted the charges dropped.

“Don’t tell anyone. I swear to God, don’t tell anyone, but I received a private message on my cell phone from Marilyn Manson’s attorney saying, ‘I was wondering if we could talk,'” Smithline said in the message. “The only reason she would call me…is because she thinks I’m the weak link and she might want to make a deal with me to turn on the other girls and say it was all a hoax.”

The lawyer also allegedly tried to arrange a meeting between Smithline and Manson. “He would like to talk,” read the displayed message. “Closing is important to Brian and he believes we can help each other.”

King, however, denies all allegations made against him and his client. “It’s no surprise that Evan Rachel Wood is fighting desperately to keep Ashley Smithline’s testimony out of court, because she knows the truth will expose her plot to manipulate the women who trusted her into destroying Brian Warner,” she said in a statement. Note. Rolling stone.

“Brian Warner never abused anyone. Ashley Smithline told the truth,” he continued. “It is sadly to be expected that Evan Rachel Wood — someone who has produced a bogus FBI letter under oath in other court cases — will remain pledged not to do the same.”

Even Smithline itself has denied the claims made by Wood. “Evan is lying. That’s my comment,” she told the magazine. “He’s saying everything he can to discredit me.”

In the petition, Wood’s attorney also questions why Warner’s legal team didn’t subpoena Smithline to testify in the case. “The reason is obvious. The plaintiff understood that if the defendants were given the opportunity to question Smithline, the real truth would come out: the defendants never pressured or manipulated Smithline.”

In 2021, Smithline charged Manson with sexual assault, harassment, intentional infliction of emotional distress, human trafficking and unlawful imprisonment, among other charges. The singer has denied all allegations.

The Los Angeles District Attorney’s office is still considering whether to file criminal charges against Manson for other alleged sex crimes that occurred between 2009 and 2011. Since the statute of limitations for rape in California is 10 years, that may already be too much. late to file a complaint. criminal prosecution in such cases.
