In 2018, the former deputy accused Gerson Florindo of having staged an attack against Haddad to harm Bolsonaro.
Former federal deputy Alexandre Frota was sentenced last Tuesday, aged 28, to pay BRL 50 thousand compensation for moral damages to the president of the PT in Ubatuba, on the coast of São Paulo, Gerson Florindo de Souza.
In 2018, Frota accused the PT leader of impersonating a supporter of former President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) and insulting then Workers’ Party (PT) presidential candidate Fernando Haddad during an event in Brasilia .
At the time, the former lawmaker shared a video on social media showing a person in a T-shirt and cap supporting Bolsonaro and cursing Haddad. Frota then said that the PT and Florindo staged the attack with the intention of damaging Bolsonaro’s candidacy.
Florindo, however, proved to Justice that he was not in Brasilia on the day of the aggression suffered by Haddad. In addition to the compensation, Frota was also sentenced to publish a retraction on social networks and keep it for at least 15 days, under penalty of a fine of R$ 150,000.
“The repercussion of the publication, which has had thousands of contacts, in addition to the derogatory comments, has damaged the honor and the image of the author”, reads an excerpt of the sentence issued by the X Section of private law of the Court of Justice of the San Paolo.
OR Earth he contacted the former parliamentarian’s advisory board and is awaiting a response.
Failure
In 2022, the São Paulo justice decreed the bankruptcy of the actor and former federal deputy Alexandre Frota. The request came through the politician himself, who claims to be in a state of “insolvency”.
According to the decision of Judge Carlos Aiba Aguemi, the debt incurred by several judicial convictions exceeds Frota’s assets. The ex-deputy’s pending compensation is approximately R$1.4 million.
“In the attached documents there is no asset of significant value that integrates the debtor’s assets”, determined the judge.
“Therefore, the plaintiff’s insolvency situation is evident, and the establishment of disputes between creditors for the just satisfaction of debts is recommended, through the control of the Judiciary”.
With the bankruptcy filing, Alexandre Frota lost the right to manage his assets, which are now managed by Banco Econômico S/A.
