Jack is gray and Kate is blonde: how the main characters of the series “Lost” have changed

The premiere of the first series was on September 22, 2004, and a total of six seasons were released. Since the heroes were the passengers of the wrecked liner, a lot of actors were involved in the series. But the main plots revolved around the trinity: the charming Kate played by Evangeline Lilly, the brutal Jack played by Matthew Fox and the seductive blonde Sawyer played by the inimitable Josh Holloway.

And that’s what happened to the actors during this period.

At the time of casting, Josh had already been filming for several years, but he did not achieve much success in his career. Mainly flashed in passing roles in television series. The opportunity to embody one of the central characters was therefore a chance. While auditioning for the role of Sawyer, a serious battle unfolded – many who eventually appeared on the show in other roles initially applied for Sawyer, even Matthew Fox.

But the producers ended up casting a smiling Josh. Oh, how many hearts were broken by that smile! The series “Lost” became a happy ticket for the actor, according to which he instantly rose to the pinnacle of fame. However, he could not stay there. A new project that would consolidate his popularity was never found. In fact, Josh remained an actor in a role – and today he is remembered exactly as Sawyer, although he continues to act in films. Josh has been married to Indonesian Jessica Kumala for a long time and together they have two children.

Matthew Fox didn’t even think about an actor’s career. He attended Columbia University, where he studied economics and enjoyed playing football. However, when it came to part-time work, Matthew decided to try his hand at modeling and got so carried away that in the end, in 1992, he made his television debut. Before “Lost”, however, he had to settle for mostly secondary roles. Although he already had a successful project on his own – the series “Five of Us”, which was released in the 1990s. It was he who brought the actor the first popularity.

However, after the success of “Lost”, Fox was covered by a crisis. In 2012, he declared that he saw no interest in filming if he did not receive interesting offers. In 2014, the actor went on hiatus. With his Italian wife and children, he moved to Italy, where he lived for several years, forgetting about the ambitions and glamor of Hollywood. However, all fans of Jack tremble, now the actor is ready to return to his duties. In 2022, he starred in the miniseries “Last Light”, and at the same time acted as a producer himself – this new experience attracted him. Our favorite Jack now has wrinkles around his eyes and gray temples, but we’re so excited to have the cast back!

Perhaps the most successful career after Lost was that of Kate, actress Evangeline Lilly. She managed not only to not remain a one-shot actress, but also to enter the major league of Hollywood actors who star in box office films.

After the cult series, she embarked on Peter Jackson’s saga based on Tolkien’s books and played the role of the elf Tauriel in the films The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug and The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies, then became the star of Marvel movies. It would also be difficult for Lost fans to recognize Lilly today. No, the actress always looks great, but she likes to experiment with her image. She said goodbye to dark curls and went blonde with an ultra-short haircut.

But in her personal life, Evangeline votes for stability. She has been in a relationship with actor and assistant director Norman Cali since 2010 and they have two sons.
