This song Cream Soda “predicts” the death of the founder of the group on the Volga

News sites reported that Dmitry Svirgunov, co-founder of the popular group Cream Soda, fell through the ice on the Volga near Yaroslavl and drowned. The group’s repertoire includes a song that “predicted” the tragedy.

Dmitry Svirgunov was born in Yaroslavl. In 2007, he met on the same musical site Ilya Gadaev. For several years they only communicated online, exchanged ideas and experimental tracks, then met in person and in 2012 decided to form a band, calling the project Cream Soda. The popularity of the group came in 2019-2020, when the main hits were released – “Crying for techno” and “No more parties”, which everyone sang. The band’s early tracks have faded a bit into the shadow of these compositions, and one of the band’s early tracks now sounds completely different.

The lyrics of the song Volga, released in 2017, in light of the tragedy, seem chillingly prophetic:

I go down with you

In the captivity of spring lips I will drown

I go down with you

In the captivity of spring lips I’ll drown (I’ll drown)

Listen to the whole song

It was also the first song in which Anna Romanovskaya, who later became the vocalist of the group, participated in the recording. In 2022, she leaves the team.

By a sad coincidence, Svirgunov came to his hometown of Yaroslavl to celebrate his own birthday.
