Conan jokes about the best part of winning the title and the feelings his songs, with melancholy lyrics and upbeat rhythms, evoke in the audience. “Seeing how emotional people are on stage is a lot of fun,” he says.

Conan Gray prepares to perform for the first time in Brazil as one of the attractions of the Lollapalooza this Friday the 24th. Despite saying “I haven’t seen many places other than the airport yet,” she says she’s excited to set foot in the country.

The singer already anticipates what the audience can expect from the show. “Lots of moments to sing along with me and moments to cry a little or laugh. I hope it’s a space where all people can just be themselves,” he comments.

The fact that it’s in Brazil for the first time doesn’t stop Gray from already feeling intimate with the Brazilian audience. He says that, since the beginning of his career, he has always had the support of fans to tour the country.

“I feel the cycle is now complete and I’m so thankful that we can finally meet [os fãs] personally. Brazilians have shown me so far that they are really passionate and loud,” she jokes.

Conan has already revealed, several times, that he is inspired by pop divas, such as Taylor Swift, Gentleman OR Wool Del Rey. One of the greatest divas of the new generation, Olivia Rodrigohe is, nothing more, nothing less than your best friend.

In Brazil, he also says he has admiration for one of the greatest Brazilian singers of today: Annita. The fact that the artist was born in the country, however, took the singer by surprise on the eve of the presentation at Lollapalooza.

“Until seconds ago, I didn’t know Anitta was Brazilian,” she comments. Conan says he was hallucinated by the singer’s performance during the VMA, chosen as one of the best at the event by boardand says the Brazilian is “absolutely amazing.”

“Performing on TV is, without a doubt, the hardest thing you have to do as a singer. You know when you’re in the shower and you go, ‘I sing well’? But when you hear yourself singing over a cell phone recording, it’s like: ‘ Oh, my God’? That’s exactly the feeling,” she reports.

Gray hasn’t performed yet, but is already planning to return to Brazil for a solo show. “The Brazilians have shown that they are very happy for me to be here and I think it is so nice to be welcomed like this. So I hope [um show solo no País] Come early. I’d love to do that,” she says.
