Heartthrob of the 90s and father of Bruno Gissoni, Rodrigo Simas and Felipe Simas, Beto will star in a film about drug trafficking in Rio

Beto Simas, father of actors Bruno Gissoni, Rodrigo Simas and Felipe Simas, has revealed that he will resume his acting career at the age of 58. He will be the protagonist of the film “Contravenção”, which tells the background of drug trafficking in Rio de Janeiro. The news was announced in an interview with journalist Patrícia Kogut of the newspaper The globe.

“It was a gift for me to receive this invitation. I hadn’t acted for many years, feeling a huge desire to return. I was very happy. I play Tarcísio, a criminal. The film is about the war that started in Rio de Janeiro Janeiro when drug trafficking tried to get into the thug zone with slot machines. It’s a true story,” he said.

The actor, who participated in several soap operas in the 90s, decided to live in the United States in 1998 with his family and only ended up returning to Brazil in 2013. There he opened an academy and founded Grupo Capoeira Brasil, which trains teachers all over the world.

“I had to go back to the US after the pandemic, to reactivate my business, the gym. I have renovated everything, and it’s on the way. Now I can leave, stay a bit here and a bit in Brazil, if the opportunity arises I’m starting to chase him, doing courses in Los Angeles (where he lives).I’m sure it will happen very soon.I’ve been away for many years and those who don’t see can’t remember.The return is a process, it doesn’t happen from today till tomorrow”.

In another part of the interview, Beto said that his children and the rest of the family were happy with the news of his return to the screen.

“I’m trying to catch up because acting has changed a lot, especially in TV. It’s a very naturalistic thing. In my day it was more formal, more weaponized. I watch them a lot, we talk a lot. Playwriting.” I’ll have a nice ride, I learn a lot. I’m on a beautiful frequency, even as human beings. They are wonderful people. Everyone in their own identity”, praises Simas.

The film could still turn into a series and is already contested by more than four platforms. The cast includes Anderson Leonardo, Piter Brandão, itto Junior, Beto Cascado, Nael Vieira and others.
