The luxurious royal wedding of Diana Spencer and Prince Charles took place in 1981, and the following year a TV movie dedicated to their romance, The Royal Romance of Charles and Diana, was released.

The role of Diana was played in it by Katherine Oxenberg, who was then 21 years old – she was the same age as the princess. For a young girl, it was her acting debut.

Katherine was born in New York but grew up in London. And she herself belonged to the European royal family. Oksenberg was the daughter of HRH Princess Elisabeth of Yugoslavia and the granddaughter of Prince Paul, Prince Regent of Yugoslavia.
