“Besides, I don’t want to go anywhere, because now everyone has a camera in their pocket and it’s not safe. People are running towards you and you don’t know if they want to kill you or just take a shot.

I had a case where a man wanted to kill me. I played on Broadway, walked out the back door. I thought the man wanted to shake my hand, but he grabbed it and pulled it behind me. He took me to the street and said, “If you make a single sound, I’ll kill you. Two people who later became my friends realized something was wrong and started shouting all over the street, ran towards me and he ran away.

Years ago, Cher talked about the pressure on all people in show business in terms of being young. And now she is a living advertisement for plastic surgery. “Is it good? For who? There are girls who go under the knife at 18. I never wanted that. They want big lips and a big ass, I don’t get it.”

Cher thinks surgery is badly needed in her field: “If you’re not good at what you do, people don’t care how you look.” She admits to getting tired faster, but her voice is better than ever: “I’ve worked on my body all my life to keep it strong and resilient. Not all 20 year old girls can do what I can.”

Cher’s first farewell tour began in 2002 and earned her around $100 million over three years. What drives her to go on stage now?

“I like to go on stage and sing. I love the feeling that arises at this moment inside… It’s huge, you feel that you can fill all the space with yourself and place everything its audience inside this space. I am very modest, but when I go on stage, everything changes, says Cher. – A lot of stars are very shy, and so am I. But you have to get the audience off the stage , and I know how to do it… If something hurts you, for an hour and a half I will make you forget it.
