How Could You, Friend: What Ruined Denise Richards and Heather Locklear’s Friendship

Denise Richards and Heather Locklear met through Charlie Sheen, who was Denise’s husband in the early 2000s and starred with Heather on the Spin City TV series. The women became close and began to spend time together often. A personal drama could also unite them – both divorced their husbands at the same time, in 2006. But then the friendship fell apart.

After all, the origins of the drama between Heather and Denise can be traced back to one man – Richie Sambora, whom Heather just divorced after 11 years of marriage.

As soon as her friend separated from her ex-husband, Denise started dating Richie, leading to rumors that she was the reason for their divorce. However, Richards strongly denied this.

“You can’t choose who you fall in love with and that friendship unfortunately ended, it couldn’t be saved. She wasn’t my best friend. For the past two years she’s been a close friend , but I haven’t known her in my whole life, how people want to portray her,” Denise said.

“It was hard when people thought I was such a bad friend. I didn’t steal anyone’s husband. Did I date an ex-girlfriend’s ex-husband? Yes. Did- I ruined their marriage? No,” Richards defended herself from the haters.

However, Deniz’s relationship with Sambora did not last long – already in 2007 they broke up. But the friendship with Heather was irreparable.
