Gkay is sued for revealing the pyramid scam

Géssica Kayane, the influencer of Gkay, was sued by Justice after revealing a tutoring app that allegedly teaches users how to “bill” bonuses with online videos. The situation allegedly happened on social media in June 2022.

Based on the lawsuit, the influencer was sued after partnering with Kiwify Educação e Tecnologia and Albano Marketing Digital, who also appear as defendants in the lawsuit.

The lawsuit was filed by Erivelton Lima de Oliveira, who acquired the alleged course for R $ 237.36. By paying, the actor would get access to the digital content, which accumulates points and turns into cash. Furthermore, the promise was that the buyer could withdraw from the tutoring whenever he wanted, receiving a full chargeback.

However, Erivelton soon realized that the proposal was completely different from what was announced and that it was a “pyramid scheme”, since the aim was to attract customers and set impossible goals to achieve, without any support for users.

In addition, the author reported in the process that the study platform created a group of messages on Telegram, starting to draw values ​​in PIX, instead of fulfilling the promised looting with accumulated points.

Erivelton reportedly contacted support to request a return, but received no response. Faced with the damage, he asked for the conviction of the three defendants, as well as compensation of R $ 10,000 for moral damage and another R $ 237.36 for material damage.

Kiwify said it doesn’t have a passive position to appear in the lawsuit, because it claims to be a platform that only serves courses created by third parties. The company also specified that the author of the trial did not present concrete evidence.

In early April, Erivelton faced the two companies in a hearing. However, the influencer did not participate because she was not found by justice. The documents show that there was an attempt at conciliation between the parties, but without success.
