“A trip through my archives is always a trip down memory lane! When I look back on my journey through music over the past 4 decades, how can I not think of all the amazing clothes I’ve worn and all the amazing designers I’ve worn? I’ve had the lucky to work with? of work!”the artist began.
When I was little I remember my mother was always cold. Partly because she was sick, but also because she’s never owned a coat. She always spent what little money we had on our coats, and I remember being outside waiting for the school bus with my mother, she shivering in the middle of winter!”
The star continued: “Years later, when I became successful, my mom’s sister said to me, ‘Now you can buy all the coats your mom couldn’t buy herself!’ The journey from remembering my mother shivering in the winter to me shivering in the air-conditioned warehouse where all my costumes are kept is truly remarkable!” she wrote.
Madonna concluded the emotional lyric by saying that she always thinks of her mother when she’s wearing a coat. “I am overwhelmed with gratitude. Every time I put on an amazing coat I think of my mother. I hope she likes my taste in costumes. But most of all, I hope she’s warm!”finished.
