In the episode, which aired Wednesday (19), Meghan chatted with the host Trisha Paytas on motherhood, education and addressed the current situation of schools facing a wave of mass shootings and violence. However, the singer ended up offending education professionals.

“We’re homeschooling our kids. Everyone on TikTok is like, ‘This is what it’s like to have kids in America. I have a bulletproof backpack. I was like, fuck this whole thing.”Trainor told Paytas. After the host nodded, adding that she was worried too, the singer said: “Fuck the teachers, man.”

Trainor’s jokes have caused several negative comments on social media, which have made the singer speak through a video posted on TikTok. “I’m sorry for being careless with my words. I LOVE teachers and I’m here for you. Let’s work together to make schools a better place”, she wrote in the post caption.

“TikTok teachers and teachers all over the world, I recently said ‘Fuck teachers’ on the podcast and that’s not how I feel. I was excited because we were talking about sending your child to school and here in America it’s so awful and what all of us have to pass, but especially the teachers, it’s not normal and it’s not good”, Meghan said in the video.

“I had Trisha Paytas on the podcast and I knew her history with teachers and I know my husband’s history with his teachers and I was bullied by some teachers,” he justified himself. “So at that point I got angry and said it about those specific human beings at the time, but I didn’t mean it for all teachers,” declared.

I love teachers, I think they have the hardest work and are the least paid, they are the most underrated when they literally grow up with it. I don’t want to make excuses, I feel sorry for the teachers I made sick. And I remind myself that my words can definitely have a consequence and I will be more careful. I love you so much, I’m sorry again, thank you all for helping me.”
