In their looks, the guest stars did their best to beat the legendary Kaiser’s signature fashion tricks: someone bet on the traditional for Chanel, where Lagerfeld had long been the creative director, pearls, someone on the designer’s favorite combination of black and white, someone looked for archival outfits in the collections he created.
Someone did it better, someone worse, but Kylie Jenner’s outfit – a red dress by Jean Paul Gaultier – was criticized from all sides. Many felt that the representative of an influential clan did not reflect the theme of the evening in her outfit. But maybe she wanted to tell them something completely different?
