Bolsonaro in the crosshairs
On Wednesday 3, the Federal Police launched an operation to investigate the entry of false data on vaccination against covid-19 into the systems of the Ministry of Health. The suspicion is that Bolsonaro would have been one of the beneficiaries. the lieutenant colonel Mauro Cid, who was an aide to the former president, was arrested. In addition to him, five other people were arrested, including military police and an army colonel.
The PF investigates whether Bolsonaro’s card was scammed to enter the United States. There was, therefore, a search and a seizure at the home of the former president, whose cell phone was confiscated.
According to the Prime Minister of the Secretariat for Institutional Relations, Alexandre Padilha, the PF investigates the crimes of: violation of preventive health measures; criminal association; entering false data into information systems; and corruption of minors. For the experts heard from Stadiumthe former president can be held responsible on three fronts: in the Brazilian courts, in the US and in the International Criminal Court, a jurisdiction that already brings together complaints against Bolsonaro.
