“Russian Madonna”: where did the most stylish star of the 90s, Lika Star, disappear

Lika Star’s debut album “Rap” with the real name Lika Pavlova was released in 1993. With a pseudonym, the aspiring singer did not miss, because it is not in vain that they say: ” What do you call the ship …”. And Lika immediately found herself not in a flimsy boat, on which the debutante tries to ride the wave, but immediately in a snow-white liner, which proudly and confidently made its way.

Lika immediately caught the public’s attention with an atypical genre for the scene of those years: while everyone was “labing” primitive pop or chanson, Star was distributing trip-hop, rap and hip-house compositions.

It’s no surprise that the video for the first single “Let it rain” won the prestigious Generation-93 festival award. Then everything only increased. In 1996, the song “Lonely Moon” was released, which would become the singer’s trademark. Fedor Bondarchuk and Gosha Kutsenko starred in the video for this track. Other music videos for Like were shot by Philip Yankovsky, who was then a sought-after music video creator.

In general, Star quickly became the most fashionable singer of the time. With what epithets has the press rewarded her! Lika was called the “Russian Madonna”, with the title of “the first DJ girl” and the “first rap artist of the USSR and Russia” (and Lika really started in this party and at the end of the years 1980, she performed under the pseudonym Lika MC). Lika was filmed in Playboy, constantly invited on TV…

But in the early 2000s, Star suddenly disappeared from view. Then there were rumors that Alla Pugacheva could block her oxygen on stage. Including because of his alleged affair with Vladimir Presnyakov, the youngest, who was then still with Kristina Orbakaite.

But in fact, in 2002, while on tour in Tallinn, Lika met Italian designer Angelo Secci. A year later, she married him and moved to Italy, where she still lives today. The couple have two children together: son Marco and daughter Allegra. From a previous relationship, Lika also has a son, whom she took with her (the boy’s father died in 2011).

Commenting on her departure from the stage, Star didn’t deny that she did have “some conflict” with Pugacheva, but that had nothing to do with how her career ultimately developed.

In Italy, Lika is engaged in business, but from ancient memory sometimes gives concerts in Russia, where she pleases fans with old hits.
