Brazil mourns the loss of the ever charismatic Palmira Nery da Silva OnofreTHE Palm tree, which was very successful on television. She died last Sunday, aged 7, at the age of 91, due to an aggravation caused by chronic kidney problems, according to a statement released by the family. With the loss of “Brazil’s most beloved grandmother”, internet users have paid tribute, recalling the presenter’s iconic moments.

The kitchen was a pillar of life in Palmirinha, even before the TV shows. She sold snacks she produced and, thanks to this work, the presenter Silvia Poppovic created an article with her, telling her story. She was 63 years old at the time.

After that, her life started to take off. Host Ana Maria Braga invited Palmirinha to host the Café da Manhã segment from her program Note and Anote on Record.

In 1999, five years later, she was hired by TV Gazeta. There she presented TV Culinária for 11 years. She then moved to the closed channel Bem Simples / FOX Life, where she commanded the Programa da Palmirinha until 2015.
