In over 50 years of career, Rita Lee won was one of the biggest names in Brazilian music, with over 55 million records sold and the title of ‘Queen of Rock‘. Rock, however, was not the only genre that inspired the artist. Bossa nova, electronic music, pop and, of course, 70s psychedelia were present in the different phases of the singer-songwriter.

From 1966 to 1972 she was a member of The mutants, consecrated Brazilian psychedelic rock band, alongside Arnaldo Baptista and Sérgio Dias and Arnaldo Baptista, with whom she was also married from 1968 to 1972. Panis and Circus, Child AND I’m a little out are some of the successes of the group, immortalized by the voice of Rita Lee.

After being kicked out of the group, Rita joined the band Tutti Frutti (1973-1978), led by guitarist Luis Sérgio Carlini. Now I only miss you AND Black sheep are some of the songs composed by the singer in this period. Since 1979, Roberto de Carvalho has been his great musical partner. Together they have created some of the most famous songs of Rita’s career such as obsession with you AND Love and sex.
