The presenter paid tribute to the singer during her show
Ana Maria Braga was moved to announce the death of singer Rita Lee during Mais Você, this morning of Tuesday 9. The presenter paid tribute to Rita during the program, showing extracts from interviews, videos and images of her.
During the broadcast of the program, Ana Maria interrupted a VT to call the journalist César Tralli, who spoke about the death of Rita Lee, one of the biggest names in Brazilian music and national rock.
Ana Maria was moved by the news and, speaking of Rita, she said: “Happy are those who have been able to cross paths with her on this journey. Because she is, in fact, a symbol of energy, happiness, intelligence, good people, in short, everything in these 75 years of life represents it. A very rich singer, composer, instrumentalist, writer, artist, activist, above all irreverent, a great woman, an example for all of us here,” she said.

“He marked his time and I confess that, however much we waited, we were following his health, but the time I was here and they talked about the news, almost inevitable, it was a blow to speak. Because there are people who we imagine are eternal, she will always be my ‘fuchsia’”, Ana said in a choked voice.
Globo will honor Rita Lee throughout its programming this Tuesday 9, showing a concert by the artist instead of Profission Repórter. In Conversa com Bial one of Rita’s last TV appearances will be shown.
After showing other tributes, Ana Maria Braga concluded the program with a phrase said by Rita: “You shouldn’t fear death any more than you should be ashamed of the mediocre life you lead”.
