Ivete Sangalo was a guest on the podcast A thousand and one trickswith Thaila Ayala, Julia Faria and Rachel Maia, and talked about extraordinary moments of her motherhood. mother of three, Marcellus13, and twins Marina and Helena, 5, from their marriage to Daniel Cadythe artist recalled a speech by her eldest son that made her very sad during the puerperium.



“One day, he said to me, ‘Mom, I wanted to tell you something.’ I had, like, a month of ‘delivery.’ I was still that thing with the stitches and such. And he said, ‘I love my dad more than you”. Then I said: “Yes, my son? It’s okay.” Those mothers who read books, you know? “No. Don’t let your kid tell you, no. He might even hear it, but he can’t tell you, no,” he said.

Still recovering from the birth of his youngest daughters, he revealed what the boy’s apology was like.

“I grabbed my bathing suit, put it on, and went down. I dove in. It was time to fuck with the stitches. When I got out, he came running, ‘Mom, I was lying.’ ‘It doesn’t matter. Never tell your mother again. Because I have suffered a lot. Never tell mother again. You can also hear it, call your father to share and don’t keep it just to yourself. But, for God’s sake , don’t do that with mom anymore. Because I’ve been to hell and back,” she revealed.

Miscarriages and baby blues

The famous also said that he had spontaneous abortions, because all her pregnancies were ectopic, when the embryo fixes and develops outside the uterine cavity. According to Ivete, after trying several times, she decided to do IVF.

Already after the birth of the youngest daughters, the artist discovered that he was with her baby blues (puerperal or postpartum sadness) and felt “guilty” for not being able to be part of the firstborn’s daily life.

“Marcelo had been there for eight and a half years. My moment as a mom with him was total: the birth, the breasts, the gaze, the breastfeeding. That romanticism that motherhood preaches. When they arrived I nurtured for them a voracious, immediate passion. And I missed him there in the room. I spent a month crying,” he said.

“I had the baby blues because I didn’t have privacy with them because I always had someone to help me: I was breastfeeding and crying. I had that movement, my son went to school alone because I had surgery. I had it and it was much more related to the condition, to the guilt, that to something like that, that to my body. I cried. And I myself put the songs to cry with songs (…) I cried, I really swelled up, drained. it was the process of this mother who has to manage the lives of the three children and her own,” he added.
