Several celebrities who support Vini Jr. ignore anonymous blacks discriminated against every day

Partial indignation and eagerness for self-promotion with the media case of the player highlight the self-righteous side of celebrities

In previous episodes of racism on the pitch, Vini Jr. has received few expressions of solidarity from personalities outside the football universe.

This time, with the global repercussions of what happened in the match between Real Madrid and Valencia, the number of celebrities who have defended the player and protested against racists has grown several times.

Some sincere. Others, blatantly motivated by the spotlight. Flagrant opportunism to use a drama associated with a social cause to promote itself on the Internet and television.

This selective outrage of different artists and under-celebrities is recurrent: they ignore anonymous victims, even those who eventually appear in the news, because they feel motivated only to empathize with peers, i.e. other famous people.

In this case it’s worth posting outrage (the “we’re together” always appears in the lyrics), forging emotional pain for the suffering of others and even sharing heartwarming stories – right? – situations of discrimination experienced or witnessed.

Meanwhile, day after day, blacks without fame, without millions of followers on social networks and without access to the press are silently subjected to structural racism, institutional racism and cordial racism.

For them, few media stars get upset. They are, in most cases, invisible victims. They don’t offer the stage desired by casual militants interested only in likes and visibility.

José cursed like a ‘monkey’ while making a delivery, Maria followed by security guards at the supermarket, Luís often searched for no reason and Ana forced to use the service lift they too deserve understanding, support and defense – for humanity , not for marketing.
