Alleged TV producer embezzled BRL 20,000 from actor with false promises of soap opera role

Jeff Machado, buried on Saturday 27, believed the prime suspect in his murder was in love with him. Beautician Cintia Hilsendeger says the boy posed as a production assistant and that Jeff paid R$20,000 for an alleged role in a TV soap opera.

According to Cintia, shortly after the suspected of murder received the money, he started making excuses whenever prompted Jeff Macchado about the alleged role.

“Jeff was worried and distraught, he thought the person was trustworthy, but he said he knew of people who were victims of that same team. We believe his death was caused by this, because he said he would put his mouth on the world. In the end, Jeff asked for his money back and received only R$ 2 thousand. He had no idea that they were scammers, because he thought the boy was in love with him,” Cintia said, in an interview with O Globe newspaper.

Suspicion would have attracted Jeff Macchado saying that the figure was enough for him to have a fixed role and not remain in the attraction only as a figure. However, the role promised to the actor never came.

“He said Jeff had to lose weight or gain weight. Every time he asked Jeff to be patient, his time would come. I told him to be calm that everything would work out, that in the next soap opera he would have it done . she doesn’t believe him”, completes Cintia.

Disappearance, murder and the chest

Jeff had been missing since January 2023. Since then, the Rio de Janeiro civilian police have been investigating the actor’s whereabouts. The disappearance was concluded after an NGO notified Machado’s family, saying they had eight abandoned dogs in his home.

Jeff’s mother went to the police in January, according to her son who always responded via audio has started responding via text message, using language that was not usual. She asked to hear her son’s voice, but received negative answers.

Police arrived at the whereabouts of the actor’s body on Monday the 22nd. Jeff Machado was found and forwarded to IML, where he was identified. His body was inside the wooden trunk, with his hands tied, buried and cemented two meters deep in a piece of earth in Rua Itueira, Rio.
