Ezra Miller, known for his role in ‘The Flash,’ spoke out for the first time after being accused of child molestation. On Instagram, the actor celebrated the lifting of a temporary restraining order against a 12-year-old boy.
On Friday (6/30), the Greenfield District Court stayed the order filed by Shannon Guin in the Massachusetts town, accusing the actor of child molestation, but no criminal charges were brought against Miller .
“I am confident with today’s outcome and very grateful at this time to everyone who stood by me and tried to ensure that this misuse of the protective order system was stopped,” the artist wrote.
“Orders of protection are meant to promote the safety of individuals, families and children who are in danger. They are not to be used as a weapon by those seeking attention or a place in fame or some type of personal vengeance when there are people who really need these services.”
Miller also underlined that he was the victim of an injustice: “I have been unjustly targeted by an individual whose facts show his history of manipulative and destructive actions. (…) I want everyone to know that I continue to do do my best to preserve my well-being and to reverse the collateral damage this ordeal has brought to me and those close to me.”
defense support
Marissa Elkins, the actor’s attorney, also released a statement regarding the “false claims” made by Shannon Guin. The defense stressed that Miller “was never alone” with the child during their “brief encounters.”
“Frustratingly for Ezra, Guin came forward with his false allegations at a time when Ezra was struggling with serious mental health issues and was unable to appear in court to defend himself against the false allegations made by this individual.” , he said.
“Had Ezra appeared in court last year and shared the truth about his very limited interactions with Ms. Guin, I am confident the original order would never have been issued.”
remember the case
The Massachusetts filing comes just a week after Tokata Iron Eyes’ parents filed a handling and assault charge in North Dakota last June.
In the case, Tokata’s family accused the actor of having an affair with the girl since he was just 12 years old. Justice has even issued a restraining order so that he does not go near the victim.
“Ezra uses violence, intimidation, threats, fear, paranoia, delusions and drugs to dominate the young teenager Tokata,” reads the document, obtained by various media outlets.
Subsequently, Tokara’s parents withdrew the restraining order, and the Standing Rock Sioux Tribal Court rejected the harassment order for lack of formal charges against Ezra Miller.
