Actor Leonardo Bittencourt, known for playing Daniel Cravinhos in the films inspired by the Richthofen case, expressed his dissatisfaction with the lack of opportunities in the audiovisual market in a post on Twitter.
In a sequence of posts, the 29-year-old actor confessed his difficulty in getting new projects since September of last year. “I can’t stand being unemployed anymore. Every trial that comes I do my best, and even with people praising it, it never does. Since September, it’s hard not to wonder what I’m doing wrong,” he wrote.
Furthermore, Bittencourt highlighted the inequalities existing in the art market, where many have already entered since childhood or rely on family support. “The comparison is unfair because everyone my age has been in this profession since they were little or for more than 10 years. Many of them have families close to them to help,” she argued. Then she deleted the posts.

Despite acknowledging his privileges as a white, cisgender man, Bittencourt also outlined the challenges he faces because he’s not a native of Rio de Janeiro. Born in Manaus, he moved to Rio de Janeiro at the age of 19, in 2013, and has since dedicated himself to his acting career.
“But I’m from Manaus, I’ve been here alone for 10 years. I’ve made my life my job and I wish I could forget, go out there to travel and so on. But my responsibility to pay the bills makes me not take my mind is far from the next opportunity,” Leonardo complained.

Bittencourt also mentioned the pressure to make her personal life an extension of her job, revealing that publicists have already suggested exposing intimate details of her life to get more attention. However, she declined to benefit from this exposure. “There’s already been talks before in the press office that suggested I explore my personal life, talking about who I was kissing … And that’s something I’ve never seen done around,” she added.
“More than ever, we live in this era of follower numbers that define better characters,” she stressed. “Then you are obliged to make your social network an extension of your work. Expose even the last detail of your personal life to engage … and the acting part forget it.”
After reporting, she received messages of support from her followers. One of them commented: “Those who see it from a distance are deluded into thinking that, with a job, one already becomes very rich”, to which Bittencourt replied: “The environment is full of vanity and appearances. Anyone who shows weakness it is not at the top”.
Leonardo Bittencourt made his television debut in 2018, playing Hugo in ‘Malhação: Vidas Brasileiras’. In 2021, he rose to fame for his portrayal of Daniel Cravinhos in the films ‘The Girl Who Killed My Parents’ and ‘The Boy Who Killed My Parents’. His last role was in 2022, in the HBO Max series “No Mundo da Luna”.
