Directed by Daniel Rezende, the film inspired by the book of the same name by Valter Hugo Mãe also features Johnny Massaro, Miguel Martines and Rebeca Jamir in the cast.

Netflix released the official trailer for the adaptation of The Son of a Thousand Menfilm based on the book of the same name by Valter Hugo Mother which is directed and written by Daniel Rezende (Bingo: The King of Mornings, Monica’s Gang: Ties). The film stars Rodrigo Santoro (The Last Blue). Find out more below:

What is it about?

First adaptation of a book by the writer Valter Hugo Motherthe work is a best seller and follows Chrysostom (Rodrigo Santoro), lonely fisherman who dreams of having a child. His life changes when he meets Camilo (Miguel Martines), an orphan boy who decides to take in. In an attempt to escape her own pain, Isaura (Rebecca Jamir) crosses the path of the two, and then Antonino (Johnny Massaro), a misunderstood young man, also connects with them. Together, the four learn the meaning of family and the purpose of sharing life.

Produced by Biônica Filmes and Barry Company, they are also part of the cast Antonio Haddad (Monica’s Gang: Lessons), Carlos Francisco (Nightjar), Grace Passô (The Day I Met You), Inez Viana (The Lady of the Piece), Juliana Caldas (The Other Side of Paradise), Livia Silva (Marighella), Marcello Escorel (2 Children of Francisco) and Tuna Dwek (Carandiru), between others.

When does the new product debut?

Recorded between Búzios, on the coast of Rio de Janeiro, and Chapada Diamantina, in Bahia, the film premieres in select cinemas on October 30th and globally on Netflix on November 19th. Watch the trailer:
