The X-Files: Ryan Coogler will reboot for his mother

Iconic science fiction series, X files follows the adventures of Fox Mulder and Dana Scully, FBI agents played by David Duchovny AND Gillian Anderson. Together they deal with unsolved cases. During their investigations, they are forced to face various paranormal phenomena. They also try to shed light on the disappearance of Mulder’s sister, Samantha.

Chris Carter is the creator of X files. During an interview in October 2023, he made a major revelation stating this Ryan Coogler was preparing a reboot of his cult series. The information has since been made official. The director of Black Panther he is therefore actually working on new episodes of the show.

The director wants it “you are right” for his mother and other fans

Cinespia, an organization that screens films at various outdoor locations in and around Los Angeles, recently screened SinnersRyan Coogler’s latest film. Variety I took the opportunity to question the latter about his new version of X files. While he has already written and directed I believe for his father, the director shared the good reason why he agreed to take on this project and he absolutely wants to succeed :

Like my father’s relationship with Rocky, The X-Files is similar with my mother. My mother means everything to me, so this project is important to me. I want to do well for her and for the fans.

Ryan Coogler also revealed it having shown his mother some passages of what he had written for new episodes of X files. And apparently she really liked it: “My mother has read some of the things I have written and is full of enthusiasm”.

What about the participation of Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny?

Recently a rumor circulated about the possible participation of Danielle Deadwyler upon reboot X files. When asked about the matter, Ryan Coogler did not want to reveal whether the actress The piano lesson it would really be in its own series. He doesn’t have it the participation of David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson was neither confirmed nor denied.

Last May, Gilian Anderson herself spoke about the reboot of X files. He revealed that he spoke about the topic with Ryan Coogler. And about his possible return, he said to himself open to this idea. If there is nothing official at the moment, the return of Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully cannot be ruled out. And we imagine that if the actress returns, she will no doubt be accompanied by David Duchovny, aka Fox Mulder. Anyway, no release date has been announced for the new version of X files until now.
