5 dangerous foods for those suffering from hypertension:
1. Sausages
Sausage, ham, salami and sausages have high concentrations of sodium and preservatives that increase blood pressure;
2. Excessive salt
High consumption of table salt is still the main villain. The World Health Organization recommendation is a maximum of 5 grams per day;
3. Ultra-processed foods
Frozen ready meals, instant soups and fast foods contain hidden sodium, which often goes unnoticed by the consumer;
4. Soft drinks and sugary drinks
Excess sugar contributes to obesity and insulin resistance, conditions that worsen hypertension;
5. Too much coffee and energy drinks
Caffeine in large quantities can temporarily increase blood pressure, which is harmful to those already diagnosed with hypertension.
