I Almost Ate A Shark: The Stars Who Almost Died In The Most Dangerous Situations

Even if you are a Hollywood celebrity surrounded by bodyguards, you can still find yourself in a dangerous situation. These stars were lucky to survive, even though they were about to die.

Accidents, natural disasters and wild animals – these stars have miraculously escaped!

Jeremy Renner

The Marvel actor suffered horrific injuries after being run over by his own snow plow. Renner sacrificed himself to save his nephew who was stuck in a snowdrift. However, he himself could not dodge the equipment, which he forgot to put on the handbrake in a hurry. The actor lost a lot of blood and suffered 30 broken bones, but doctors were able to save his life.

Leonardo DiCaprio

Leo is a famous animal advocate, but once he almost died in the wild. The star of the Titanic was almost eaten by a shark! DiCaprio went diving in South Africa and dived in a special cage to observe predators. But at some point the wave turned the cage over so the shark could enter. Leo lay at the bottom of the cage and narrowly escaped the bite as the shark’s jaws snapped just within reach of the actor.

The misadventures of the sex symbol of the 90s do not end there. One day, Leo nearly crashed due to a failed parachute.

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet became a movie star and could have become a lifeguard. The fact that in an extreme situation she knows how to keep her cool proves this case. In 2011, Kate vacationed on Richard Branson’s private island in the British Virgin Islands. During a violent storm, a fire broke out overnight. Kate not only survived, but also saved Richard’s 90-year-old mother. But the most interesting thing about this story is that during this fire, Kate met her future husband, Branson’s nephew, Ned Rocknroll.

Ann Hataway

Anne Hathaway nearly died while vacationing in Hawaii in 2014. She was swimming in the ocean when she fell into a dangerous current, which began dragging Ann to the bottom. Luckily, a surfer spotted her and was able to reach the Oscar-winning actress and bring her back to shore.

Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp nearly died in 2011 while flying in a small plane with director Bruce Robinson while choosing filming locations. Mid-flight, the engines suddenly stalled. Johnny and Bruce had already said goodbye to life, but after a few painful moments the engines started running again.

Travis Barker

Blink 182 drummer and husband of Kourtney Kardashian Travis Barker nearly died in a plane crash in 2008. He was one of two people who managed to survive, four others died. The plane immediately caught fire, kerosene spilling on Barker’s clothes and also catching fire. The musician managed to open the door and get out. According to him, the thoughts of his family gave him strength – he wanted to be saved at all costs for their good.

Joaquin Phoenix

Joaquin Phoenix nearly died in a car crash in 2006. The actor’s brakes failed, causing his car to overturn and crash into another car. One of the first on the scene of the crash was German director Werner Herzog, who lived nearby.

“There was something so soothing and beautiful in Werner Herzog’s voice. I felt completely fine and safe and walked out,” Phoenix recalled of that incident.

Orlando Bloom

Orlando Bloom almost died at 21. The actor fell from a height of three floors while trying to climb a gutter (apparently he was a big romantic). The resulting injury paralyzed the actor for several days.

Drew Barrymore

Drew Barrymore nearly died in 2001 when the house she shared with her husband, Tom Green, caught fire in the middle of the night. The dog saved the spouses, which woke them up and pulled them out of the flames. And the damage to the house was estimated at $700,000.

Ryan Reynolds

In his youth, Ryan Reynolds loved skydiving and even took a course at the age of 17. His 13th jump almost ended in tragedy (and how not to become superstitious?). The parachute failed to open properly and Reynolds was in free fall for several seconds, until he controlled his nerves and opened the reserve parachute. The actor did not hide that he was under severe stress and even got wet. Once on the ground, he unhooks his parachute, throws it at the instructor and leaves immediately.

Fortunately for the singer, the police managed to intervene and she was not injured.

In 2016, Ellie Goulding nearly drowned in a frozen lake while traveling in Norway during her European tour. She and photographer Conor McDonnell had to climb out of the car through the roof in total darkness and -25°C to escape.

Sandra Bullock

In 2000, Sandra Bullock was miraculously uninjured when the plane she was in skidded off the runway due to bad weather in Wyoming.

Ironically, just a year prior, Bullock starred alongside Ben Affleck in Forces of Nature, a romantic comedy about two strangers who meet after their plane crashes.

Elizabeth Taylor

In her youth, Elizabeth Taylor repeatedly found herself on the razor’s edge. During an operation, the doctors even pronounced her dead, and the actress herself later recalled that she saw the same tunnel with a white light (fortunately, Taylor was still saved). And in 1958, she was supposed to be on a plane that crashed, killing her third husband, Mike Todd, and three other passengers. Elizabeth couldn’t fly because she caught a cold. After that, the actress lived a long life – Taylor died in 2011 at the age of 79.
