Homero Salles, right hand of Gugu Liberato (1959-2019), has decided to express his opinion on the conflict between Xuxa and Marlene Mattos. In a text, the former director reinforced the producer’s seriousness and affirmed that the artist took advantage of the subject to promote “Xuxa – O Documentário”.
On LinkedIn, Salles made it clear that he doesn’t have a close relationship with Marlene despite defending her. “I’m anticipating I’m not friends with Marlene, I’ve only been with her once when I registered at the ‘pink’ house [antiga residência de Xuxa em Vargem Grande, na zona oeste do Rio de Janeiro]he underlined.
“And she’s been nice to me, but cold and uninterested in being nice. So far, no big deal. She was there to work, not make friends.”
Salles then expressed his opinion on the way the director has been treated in recent days. According to him, the producers chose the subject precisely to viralize a negative side of Xuxa’s former manager: “For this launch they needed a hook for advertising. And what was the hook chosen? Congratulations to those who got it right, won a lollipop: it’s Miss Marlene.”
Self promotion?
Then, Gugu Liberato’s right hand took issue with Xuxa’s controversial jokes, who also says she is grateful for Marlene’s work. “The excerpts disclosed underscore and demonize the former director, insisting that Marlene was a monster in front of his legion of followers,” Salles said.
“Trauma caused, psychological damage, blah-blah-blah. Wait a minute, no words of gratitude? Wasn’t there direction, dedication and professional support to boost your career?”, Needled Homero.
Finally, Homero Salles assessed that the fight with Marlene Mattos is only used as a strategy to promote Xuxa Meneghel, who has sold his documentary to Globoplay streaming.
“Neither of them is holy [incluo a humanidade toda nessa definição], but is there a limit to marketing or is everything okay? Marlene may have exaggerated and may even have given some of the reasons given by Xuxa, but this insistence on generating controversy leads to the absurdity of the execration”.
