Singer underwent “extensive and complex” 14-hour surgery and is still hospitalized; Preta was diagnosed with bowel cancer earlier this year

Singer Black Gil, 49, wrote for the first time on his social networks after the tumor removal operation he underwent last Wednesday, 16. In a statement, the artist said that he is recovering from a long and complex surgery of 14 hours, which also required a total abdominal hysterectomy. Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus.




“I am well cared for by the doctors. Special thanks to all the warrior team of Dr. Francisco Teixeira Júnior,” he wrote. “Now, it’s one day at a time. I was able to sit up today and I’m still here fighting. God, it’s okay!”

Preta is being treated for bowel cancer diagnosed earlier this year. After finishing the radiotherapy sessions, she had the tumor removed in her rectum last week, at the Sírio-Libanês hospital. In the comments, celebrities like it Maisa, Juliana Paes, Ludmilla and Regina Casé they left their support to the artist.
