The Issuer will work with timely renewals and will respect the working period

Entering from Globo will renounce the exclusive contracts for its actors with the broadcaster, informs a column by Cristina Padiglione, of Sheetthis Friday 10. This regime has been adopted since 1970 with its main stars.
Entertainment director Ricardo Waddington brought the actors together to communicate the change. Some of the stars still have valid contracts, such as Marina Ruy Barbosa, Osmar Prado, Taís Araújo and Alanis Guillen. As soon as the contracts expired, however, the renewals took place only occasionally, covering the working period.
At the meeting, Waddington spoke about the freedom of actors to come and go, having the ability to star in streaming productions, for example, since companies such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, HBO, among others, have invested in dramaturgy. .
According to the column, some present at the meeting did not take the news very well. There have been comments that the change happens as a disguised “collective layoff”, after all, the exclusive contracts guaranteed paid holidays and salary even without a soap opera on the air.
With the move, house stars such as Glória Pires, Tony Ramos, Andréa Beltrão, Mateus Solano, Regina Casé, Adriana Esteves, Marco Ricca, Vladimir Brichta and Mariana Ximenes will be without an exclusive contract, being able to work in other productions.
Change is for the actors. According to the column, screenwriters and directors were not called to the meeting.
In a note, Globo confirmed that the change was on the meeting’s agenda, but made it clear that he could have long-term contracts, depending on the working period.
“It is not true that Globo held a meeting to discuss contracts with the cast, but this was one of the topics covered. With clarity and transparency, as is the keynote of the relationship he has with his employees. It is true that Globo they will no longer have long-term contracts. As you know, Globo has adapted its contractual models to market dynamics, with the possibility of tendering for works or for a (long-term) period, according to project planning “, says the broadcaster. .
