The announcement was made this Friday (8/9) with the revelation of photos of the ceremony on the actress’s Instagram, accompanied by an interview with Vogue Weddings, but the wedding took place a week ago in Mallorca, Spain .

“Looking down the aisle at all our friends and family was an unforgettable moment,” Joey revealed to the magazine about the ceremony, which was inspired by the style of the movie “The Great Gatsby.” “We really felt perfectly present and absorbing every detail was pure magic.”

Meeting, meetings and engagement

The couple’s relationship began during the recording of the award-winning miniseries “The Act”, which earned the actress an Emmy nomination and was directed by Piet. King reminded Vogue of her immediate relationship with the director. “There was an immediate ease,” she said. “I had a huge crush, but I waited until the wrap party to ask him out. I gathered all my courage and pulled him aside to tell him how I felt. It was the best decision of my life!”

Piet proposed in February 2022 during a trip to Joshua Tree, marking their third anniversary. The director described the moment as “perfectly imperfect”, in the middle of a cold, windy day. “The weather was far from perfect. Cold. Windy. Perfectly imperfect to ask my best friend to spend her whole life with me,” Piet posted at the time.

King also shared an emotional message upon their engagement, including photos of the couple and the ring. “I never imagined that happiness could be so powerful that it takes the air out of your lungs, overwhelming every part of you and you can’t stop your eyes from filling with undeniable joy,” she wrote.
