According to the police report, the player fell from the 17th floor of a building in the Jardins neighborhood, in the city of Sao Paulo. There was a resuscitation attempt, but death was declared at the scene of the accident.

A CBVBrazilian Volleyball Confederation, spoke in a statement about Walewska’s death, highlighting the main headlines and expressing solidarity with her friends and family.

After winning a bronze medal at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, Walewska and the women’s volleyball team won gold in Beijing at the 2008 games.
