After several films aimed at adult audiences, director Robert Rodriguez decided to launch a franchise for children in 2001: Spy Kids. The success is undeniable and there have been sequels, including one in 3D released in 2003.
This all-new movie, available directly on Netflix, has a new cast, but the concept remains the same: child spies, action scenes, and a slightly offbeat tone typical of Robert Rodriguez’s style.
As is often the case in Spy Kids, technology is at the heart of this new story, and the heroes, with the help of their countless gadgets, will have to redouble their efforts to stop the man who is putting the world in danger.
What will you like?
- What kid has never dreamed of being a spy? All fantasy comes true in front of Spy Kids. Black sunglasses and overalls, awesome gadgets… the most adventurous should love it.
- After introducing the characters, the pace of Spy Kids: Armageddon is brutal. Young viewers will definitely not have time to get bored.
- The whole world of a movie centered on video games is interesting and visually demanding. Enough to spark the imagination of the most creative.
What are they afraid of?
- Some of the fight sequences may impress the most sensitive, but any form of violence in the film remains completely accessible to a young audience.
- A few creatures can bother some, such as living skeletons that move around to stop the heroes.
Spy Kids: Armageddon is available on Netflix.
