The application driver Diones Coelho da Silvawhich hit the actor Kayky Brito, commented this Thursday, 28 years old, the trauma he had to face after the accident. A Civil Police of Rio de Janeiro Wednesday 27th concluded the investigation into the fatal accident and stated that the driver will not be held responsible for any crime, since he stayed below the permitted speed limit and provided assistance to the artist.




Diones reported suffering from anxiety attacks and insomnia after the accident. “I still carry the trauma. […] There’s that “loop” [relembrar] day and night,” he commented during an appearance on EncounterProgram of Rede Globo.

He said the news of the investigation’s conclusion was “very gratifying.” “I was already convinced of my innocence in everything, but [estava] waiting for the courts to make it public,” he said.

The driver said that, at the time of the accident, he was on his last ride of the night and that he had tried to avoid the accident, but was unsuccessful. Diones said he only learned the victim was Kayky after he asked the artist for help.

“Whether he was famous or not, it was a life,” he stressed. “What I wanted most was for him to come out of this situation alive,” she added, saying he had the support of faith and family.

Diones, who raised R$ 178 thousand in a virtual “fundraiser”., spoke about the love and support he received from people after the accident. “We must live and manifest love in people’s lives, the world needs it”, she commented.

He said he plans to buy another car for work, as he remembers the trauma of getting into the car involved in the accident. “I can’t drive well. If I already see a person on the pavement, I’m afraid to pass in front of them at any moment. So I take them and go home. I can’t go to work”, reported the driver, who he said he sought psychological help.

Finally, Diones said he is in contact with Kayky’s family and wants to meet the actor when he is released from the hospital.

Understand the case

Kayky Brito was invested in the Barra da Tijuca, in Rio de Janeiro. The images from the security camera of the place where the actor was with his friends, including the actor Bruno de Luca, show the exact moment of the accident.

In the video it is possible to see that the actor was running to cross Avenida Lucio Costa, in Barra da Tijuca. Along the way, a first car almost hit him, while the actor was heading towards his car, but he managed to brake in time. The same didn’t happen with the second one, when Kayky tried to return to the kiosk.

After the accident, Kayky He was rescued by firefighters and transported to the Miguel Couto municipal hospital, in Leblon. After the initial treatment, the actor went to the Copa D’Or hospital, where he still remains today.

The actor was discharged Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Last Friday, the 22nd. According to the medical report, the artist is “conscious, speaks with his family and is collaborating in the orthopedic rehabilitation process”.
