Taylor Swift has made a gesture of solidarity with Sophie Turner, offering her New York apartment to the actress and her daughters during her divorce trial from singer Joe Jonas. Swift, who was previously in a relationship with Jonas, offered a property in Tribeca that she keeps as an investment.
Since news of Sophie and Joe’s split became public, Swift and Turner have been spotted dining together on several occasions. According to Page Six, the Tribeca apartment is not used by Taylor, but only serves as an investment property. Sophie, who is British, and her daughters Willa, 3, and Delphine, 1, were previously staying in a hotel.
Restrictions and legal burdens
Sophie Turner must remain in New York due to a court order preventing her daughters from leaving the city during the divorce process. Joe Jonas, Nick Jonas’ older brother, filed for divorce in early September. Turner later accused the singer of hiding the passports of her children to prevent their return to England. Jonas denied the charges, and the judge ruled that the couple’s daughters should remain in New York.
During the hearings, the actress and singer reached a provisional agreement to support their daughters in New York. According to Page Six, they both signed temporary consent orders on Monday (September 25), which prohibits the removal of the children from the state. A new preliminary hearing is scheduled for Tuesday (10/3).
