Caio Castro celebrates the podium after the accident in the Truck Cup: ‘With emotion’

Caio Castro celebrated third place in the Copa Truck after suffering an accident during the test session on Saturday 14th. On his social networks, the actor shared a video showing images of the accident and celebrated the team’s effort in recovering the truck after the accident.

“Progress. Congratulations to my team who got the truck up and running in just a few hours, in a bath of champagne! P3 with enthusiasm,” he wrote.

The accident

Actor and driver Caio Castro had an accident during a test session of the Copa Truck at the Autódromo Internacional de Tarumã, in Viamão, near Porto Alegre. While driving the number 22 truck of the ASG Motorsport team, Caio lost control entering a bend at high speed, overtaking an opponent and colliding head-on with a wall of containment tyres.

Despite the impact he was unharmed and the vehicle was repaired for the races he would compete in the same day. On the same weekend Débora Rodrigues and Jaidson Zini also suffered accidents, causing Rodrigues to sprain his knee and suffer pain in his collarbone, preventing them from competing in the later stages.
