Preta Gil revealed the painful saga of discovering her ex-husband Rodrigo Godoy’s betrayal, while participating in the program “De Frente com Blogueirinha”. The singer opened up about the seven months in which she was cheated on, admitting that she initially didn’t suspect anything.
Seven months of betrayal
“That boy had been cheating on me for seven months and I didn’t even suspect it. I didn’t suspect it, I was blind, I didn’t know what it was. I really had a relationship of great trust with him. I didn’t suspect it,” said the singer.
The infidelity came to light with the discovery of Godoy’s affair with Ingrid Lima, Preta’s former stylist, which began to arouse suspicion in the artist.
Abandoned in the fight against cancer
The diagnosis of bowel cancer accentuated the crisis in the marriage. “Then comes the most serious thing, that is, the moment of diagnosis,” Preta reported. According to her, Godoy was absent at critical moments. “He didn’t take care of me. I found out about the diagnosis in January, I separated from him before I found out about the betrayal. Amidst the problems, Preta counted on the support of friends. “My friends protected me. They chased me with everything. I was abandoned at home. My friends were there to wash me, to feed me, while he was on the street,” she said.
After the separation, Preta Gil insisted on reestablishing his identity, removing Rodrigo Godoy’s surname from his documents.
Medical treatment
Preta Gil announced his diagnosis of bowel cancer on January 10, followed by a period of treatment that included surgery to remove the tumor. The singer was admitted to the Sírio-Libanês hospital, in Sao Paulo, on August 16 for the surgery, which was successful, but required a 28-day hospitalization. On that occasion, in addition to removing the tumor, Preta underwent a total abdominal hysterectomy, an extensive and complex operation that lasted 14 hours. On August 22, the artist announced that she was “free of cancer cells” 12.
The surgery left the singer with an ilostomy bag, which she will have to remove during another medical procedure. “My second surgery involves removing the pouch and reconstructing my intestinal tract. This surgery is simpler, but my subsequent recovery is also delicate and requires a lot of dedication,” she explained.
