This past weekend, he took it a step further by promoting himself to pre-Enem lesson for students of public schools in Recife (PE). From the stage as a teacher, Gil saw a little of himself in his students.

“I have also studied all my life in public schools, so it is impossible not to identify with these young people who participated in Aulão. I am reliving several special memories from my youth, so this moment is definitely very special for me,” he said, in an interview with Earth.

Furthermore, according to Gil, the Pernambuco auction makes everything even more special. After all, the former BBB and PhD student in the United States was born in Jaboatão dos Guararapes, in the metropolitan region of Recife.

In addition to the pre-Enem event, for a few months Gil has been publishing videos on YouTube with mathematical content for high school students, available for free. Once again, the method he intends to promote is linked to his own path.

“When I was younger, I studied a lot through YouTube video lessons, so to be able to be on the other side now, passing on my knowledge to other young people, is something that really warms my heart,” he celebrates.

Little by little, Gil hopes to make a difference in the Brazilian educational landscape. He also commented on the number of people enrolled in Enem this year, which, although it is higher than that of 2022 and 2021, is still much lower than that recorded before the pandemic.

For the economist, who has already revealed that he dreams of becoming president of Brazil, the recovery will come with “investments in the territory and public policies”.

The secret is also in the hands of teachers, who, for him, have the “power to reinvent themselves” to attract the new generations, so connected to the virtual world. “The great value and power of education will never be lost,” he believes optimistically.
