Chiquinho, whose real name is Francisco Scarpa Filho, was born on September 13, 1951, the son of businessman Francisco Scarpa and socialite Patsy Scarpa. But luck came from a previous generation, from his grandfather, the Italian immigrant Nicolau Scarpa.

Nicolau was the creator of the Caracu brewery. He was the owner of several companies and shareholder of the Votorantim Group, a Brazilian multinational that operates in sectors such as mining, energy, finance and real estate investments.

Chiquinho’s father inherited Nicolau’s fortune and companies. In 1971, the Caracu brewery launched the first canned beer in Brazil, Skol-Caracu, which would later give rise to the beer brand. Chiquinho has already said that his father had 40 farms, as well as a sugar factory, a metallurgical factory and a textile factory.
