Regina Volpato describes in detail the negotiations with SBT and the relationship with Michelle Barros

Presenter Regina Volpato, 55, will begin 2024 in a new home and with new challenges. The journalist signed with SBT in November 2023 to host an as-yet-unnamed program. What is known is that it will be daily, morning and that it will compete directly with Ana Maria Braga (Globo) and Ana Hickmann (Record TV). Dispute, however, is not a justification for disagreement. On the contrary, it is a source of admiration.

“There is no disagreement [entre nós apresentadoras]. I think it’s no wonder it’s such a difficult time, because it’s occupied by strong women […] joining this team is a side gain. Look, Ana Hickman, Patrícia, Ana Maria Braga, they are women who have all my admiration, they are women who have been doing this job for a long time, a job well done and I love joining the team,” Terra said.

The negotiations with the management of SBT, according to her, were carried out with Daniela Beyruti, daughter number three of Silvio Santos and vice-president of the broadcaster. The arrangements were tied together so seamlessly that Regina prefers to refer to the stage as a “conversation.”

“SBT is known as a company that treats its employees very well […] I already knew the DNA of the company, so at the first contact everything was very correct, affectionate, well done. It was the first time I wasn’t invited to audition, you know? They invited me with a defined, studied job proposal. It was just a matter of adjusting the contract, because I already have commitments, commercials and it is important not to conflict with SBT and their proposal.”

Officially Regina Volpato isn’t working yet, just keep an eye on the new directions the project will take. However, she is already preparing for the workload that she will face. There will be four hours of live broadcast a day, to inform and entertain the public. To help her on the journey she will have the company of Michelle Barros, for whom she has affection.

“The conversation [negociação] he was very attached to that volume of work. I know it will be because I have already done a four hour daily program on my own, it is a huge amount of work and it requires dedication, it requires a lot of commitment, because even if the guidelines are very well done, very well structured and so on, wait The presenter must have a repertoire, a talent, a level of information to contribute to the project […] and Michelle, well… look what life is like, she was interviewed by Women and it was a really nice afternoon, I remember that after the interview she stayed with us all afternoon, it was really nice. We met recently in Telethon and now we’re recording “Sunday Legal” which should air on December 24th. So we already have an interaction.”

This is Regina Volpato’s second stint at Silvio Santos’ station. Her first was in 2004, when she resigned from the Band, where she was host, to be the face of the classic her Family cases, later commanded by Christina Rocha. Since then, according to her, everything has changed, her life, the times and the way of making TV.

“Yes, satisfied, never stop”

As well as on TV, Regina is also popular on the internet. In recent months she has become something of a “love guru” giving heartfelt advice on her Instagram, where she has more than 1 million followers. The project, she says, started organically, as a way to practice listening, an important trait of working in journalism.

“There are a lot of people today [que me mandam histórias]but in my head I’m still talking to that little group about when it all started […] It’s a big responsibility when someone tells you a secret, it means you are trustworthy and I’m very flattered, but I care and always respect you. I’m careful to choose the right words, but sometimes, when I think it’s necessary, I try too. Because of this sincerity, I believe people end up seeing me as a good listener or friend, someone they can trust.”

Satisfied with her professional moment, she is already planning the next step: investing in her Internet efforts. The presenter plans to expand what she does on Instagram.

“I’m a restless person. Thank God we have social media, because on television we do what they ask of us. On social media we can do what we want. So, on social media, I have a lot of ideas, so I really want to do many things and that many things can also be done from our bed.”
