Remember the case

The allegations against Hammer first emerged in January 2021, when the actor leaked messages revealing extreme sexual fantasies, such as cannibalism. The woman who accused the artist, previously identified as Effie, reported the case to police alleging that Hammer had physically abused her during a four-year relationship. She also said she was raped in 2017.

At the time, other women spoke out on social media, with accusations that got to the point cannibalism and sexual fetishism accusing the actor of physical and emotional abuse.

The actor ended up having his job cancelled, and in July 2022, he was spotted working as a salesman in the Cayman Islands. In May 2023, the Los Angeles district attorney acquitted him of sexual assault charges and decided to put the case on hold, after local police failed to gather enough evidence to prove a rape had occurred.

The conclusion also derives from the complexity of the relationship and the impossibility of proving forced and non-consensual sexual intercourse, the agency underlined in a statement sent to Variety.
