“I noticed that my right eye had some spots, it didn’t focus very well, while my left eye was 100%. In my 100% and Mari [Uhlmann, sua mulher] he told me: ‘Felipe, you’re tired, you work, you’re busy, rest and tomorrow we’ll see how you wake up,'” Felipe revealed.

The actor woke up with the same symptom the next day. “We immediately called the ophthalmologist who assisted us… Dr. Fabíola is treating our little girl, we trust her a lot and she saw us in the office, at 5 in the afternoon, she did the tests, she did the I tested my eye to see if there was any foreign body bothering me, but nothing.”

“Until he did the color test, he drew some pictures and asked me to tell them the difference in colors. This eye was very different from this eye. This one was very brown, very blotchy. And this one was clear,” has continued.

The doctor suspected that Simas had optic neuritis, an inflammation of the optic nerve that can lead to vision loss. He urgently ordered an MRI of the actor’s brain, but did not give a diagnosis.

“Neuritis is a symptom of something, we don’t know what it is. So there’s no point in giving you options,” the doctor reportedly said, according to the artist.

“He treated us with great affection and didn’t even want to scare us. But he said it was a race against time because he had to be discovered as soon as possible,” Simas added.

The next day, an imaging test confirmed that he had optic neuritis. After the ophthalmologist contacted a neurologist, the artist underwent further tests to investigate the cause of the eye inflammation. Tumors, infections and viruses have already been excluded. Now, the suspicion is that an autoimmune disease has not yet been diagnosed.

“It could be that [a neurite óptica] It happens once in a lifetime and never again or it could be something recurring in my life, so now we will see what this autoimmune disease really is. But I want to say that everything is at peace, I remain firm, strong and in faith”, concluded Simas.

On Instagram the actor also spoke about the painting. “Yesterday I received wonderful news at work. Tomorrow I turn 31. And today I am here. The uncertainties of life bring me closer to God. The words of the journey like: ‘be strong and courageous… in everything, thank you’ … be firm in faith…’ they illuminate my steps and ease my thoughts,” he wrote in the caption of one post.
